Rediscover WotLK by experimenting again. Not by following well-known guides.
Feature Overview
- No specializations - You don't choose one, because you don't need to.
- New Skill Tree - Select base abilities and related talents from all of your class's specs.
- Endless combinations - Hybridize, specialize, and create your own play style.
- Fresh meta - Nothing is "best" until the community discovers it again.
Why We Built It

Remember your early days in Wrath of the Lich King? Testing new spells, spending points, finding your own way to play? Over time, the meta locked in, guides became answers and discovery faded.
We believe Wrath's spells and talents are still some of the best ever made, but the way we play them deserves to be rediscovered.
Specless exists to unleash creativity, revive the joy of experimenting, and bring back that "one more point… one more try" feeling.
How It Works
The old three specialization trees have been replaced with one redesigned Skill Tree per class.
It includes base abilities and talent nodes pulled from all original specs, with new links and synergies to encourage creativity.
We also removed the "dual specialization" restriction and the cost of changing specs.
Now you can easily create multiple loadouts (different Skill Trees) and switch between them directly in your interface.
Getting Skill Tree Points
When you create a new character, it starts with no spells. You start with 2 skill tree points to spend to learn your first spells and/or talents, with different starting options.
You start with 2 points at level 1. Then, for each level, you get 1 additional point, except for levels that are multiples of 10 (10, 20, 30, ..., 80). For these levels, you get 2 points instead.
Overall, when you reach level 80, you have a total of 90 points spendable in your skill tree to create your build.
Bi-Directional & Flexible Talents Unlocking

You can unlock specific nodes in your skill tree by following different paths. As soon as you spend one point in a node, you have access to all connected nodes, in a bi-directional way.
Even if some nodes in the skill tree have multiple ranks, as soon as you spend one point on a node you can use other points in all the connected nodes. No need to reach the maximal rank to unlock connected nodes.
Save, Share, Iterate
Create multiple loadouts in-game or on the website.
Export or import them with one click.
Find your new meta — alone or with the community. The choice is yours.
Examples (You Do You)
- Fire/Arcane Mage - Skip frost entirely and double down on fire and arcane.
- Hybrid Heal/Ranged DPS Druid - Heal like a tree, beam like a moonkin.
- Warrior Arms with Dual 2H Wield - A brand new warrior experience.
- Anything you can imagine - The possibilities are truly endless.
What This Changes
- Break free from guides - If everyone knows the answer, there's nothing left to discover.
- Own your character - Your power reflects your ideas, creativity, and progress.
- Community discovery - The best builds will be found together, not prescribed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I still feel like my class?
Absolutely. You can mix talents and spells from all of your class's original specializations, but never from other classes.
This preserves strong class identity while letting you create entirely new ways to play.
Is it well balanced?
We expect the new Skill Trees and their interaction with gear affixes to increase overall class performance compared to the original game.
While this may make the experience slightly easier, players seeking a challenge will find it in Torment mode.
We don't aim to play the "fun police" and to entirely rework the skill trees so that all classes are mirrored in terms of performance. However, at the release of new content, we might do slight balancing changes so that every class can be valuable.
How about balance in PvP?
We won't apply PvP-specific tuning to Skill Trees or gear affixes.
Still, we're eager to see what PvP loadouts players come up with and how new playstyles shape the experience.
Can I respec easily?
Yes. Swap loadouts in seconds using the Skill Tree interface.
